This was our fourth cruise in the Caribbean and there is nowhere in the world like it. The temperature, weather, ambience and people make it a paradise on earth. This cruise was no exception. The Eclipse is a superb ship and the smiling staff complement it. You will notice a small star button on their lapels and is a reminder to smile, reach higher and give detail to attention.
The food was of a high standard in the Moonlight Sonata dining room and there was a surfeit of choice in the Oceanview buffet. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and I don't think that there is anything else you could add to their breakfast list. The temptation is of course to eat too much and although you resolve to keep it reasonable any excursion into the Oceanview results in another meal. It's great to have that choice.
However the entertainment was only moderate. There were some excellent acts, like Jayne Curry, who sang and acted her heart out to amuse the audience but there was also a crap comedian which we didn't stay to watch. The ship's dancers were exceptionally talented but some of their performances lacked a recognisable theme, which was down to the choreographer not the performers. However the last performance by the ship's company was excellent.
Good stateroom on the 6th deck and the view could hardly be construed as partally obstructed as you look out over th top of the lifeboats. Anyway in an emergency you would be the first into a lifeboat.
