This was a once in a life time cruise for us. A chance to see 2 very far away countries, Australia and New Zealand.
The ship and crew were very good. Embarkation and debarkation process were very timely and ran smoothly. Entertainment was excellent.
Food, especially in the Horizon Court, was inferior. Numerous items were not hot and sometimes just barely warm. Many times items were hard and uneatable. Table service in Horizon was also very slow.
The stateroom (balcony) was smaller than we are used to on Carnival. Room steward was efficient and friendly but he never called us by name. That is what we have come to expect from prior cruises.
Dinning room staff was good. The food selections were sometime very strange. We waited for lobster and when it finally came the menu also include another favorite beef wellington. Why 2 popular main dishes on the same night?
We would recommend the cruise but something needs to be done about how they serve buffet foods. Also they need to calm down the verbiage especially on the Nature Wonders in Dunedin. They promised something that could not be delivered.
We took this based on information on Princess site. They promised us a chance to see penguins and it turned out we could not see them in the wild as promised. Got to see them through a little hole in a wall. Very very disappointing and the shore excursion team did nothing to compensate us for their overselling.View All undefined undefined Reviews
The weather was very bad and to us the tour should have been canceled because of the main items to see was the scenery which was difficult to see due to rain. We expected a four wheel drive truck like vehicle and it wound up being a four wheel drive mini bus.
The cost of the tour was very excessive. The advertised price at the actual vendor location was 1/3 of the price we paid. We know the cruise line has margin in their numbers but that was ridiculous.View All 10 Cape Kidnappers Reviews
