I chose this cruise because I liked the itinerary and the port. We stayed at Country Inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral and love that hotel. (I reviewed it separately).

I had heard good and bad about the Sunshine but we decided to give it a try. We have been on several cruises on the larger ships and loved it. Overall, it was great. The crew and entertainment staff was top notch. The Lido was pretty crowded and there were a lot of people saving chairs. However, it was no worse than it was on the Breeze or Valor. The lines for food were reasonable, actually, for the number of people on the ship (it was spring break), it was pretty good. The layout was fine, we managed to find our way around easily. The water slide and sports deck were fabulous. The serenity deck was the best I have ever seen with its own pool with waterfall. The fitness area was large, however, there were several of the treadmills and steppers out of service. The ports were great (Curacao, Aruba and Grand Turk), we arrived on time and were able to get off the ship in good time.

The dining room staff was really great. The food was good but not outstanding. We traveled with our 11-year-old daughter and she loved it.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

The cabin was clean but much smaller than the same category on the Breeze or Valor. There was no 10x mirror in the bathroom. The thing that bugged me the most was the door to the bathroom opened in. When standing at the sink and the ship would rock the door would hit me in the back of the legs. Also, none of the walls or doors were magnetic so I had to put my magnetic hooks for hanging swimsuits etc on the ceiling. The balcony was average in size. Noise levels were good.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

I love this port. It's very easy to get around. Country Inn and Suites is so close to the port you can see the ships from the hotel. The only negative comment I have is that there are not enough elevators and there were lines getting into the parking deck at debarkation.

Grand Turk

We just walked to the beach and relaxed. Went all the way to the end and had drinks at Jack's Shack. Fun time! Always enjoy this place. We also stopped at Margaritaville for a dip in the free pool. Shopped in the nice stores at the pier on the way back to the ship.
