We have been on 6 cruises (Disney, Carnival and Norwegian), with the last few on Norwegian. This was our second time on the Getaway (have also been on the Escape). My husband and I are in our early 50's and have two teenagers (14 year old son and 16 year old daughter). My sister-in-law, her husband and 11 year old daughter were also with us on this cruise.
Getting on the ship is a little painful given the wait if you are in the early groups. It is really hard to hear what they are saying over the loud speaker. Not horrible, but not great. For disembarkation, we decided to do the walk off option this time (carry our own luggage). We left our room at around 7:50 and were in a taxi on the way to the airport 15 minutes later. Worked really well and it was nice to not have to mess around with splitting luggage up and what was needed for the morning!!!!
We had a mini-suite for our room. Adequate size considering you hope to not spend much time in there. The bathroom is a decent sized and adequate storage space in the room. The balcony is a bit small - but fine for 1-2 people and we didn't spend too much time there anyway.

We loved the Island, but thought the drinks and food were a little expensive, so got back on the ship early.
