It's an older, smaller ship so there's not that much on board. I was underwhelmed with it. There's only one pool, besides the kiddie area. There was only one show most nights, which ran into both dinners meaning you had to choose dinner or the show. Not enough dining options on board, especially ones that are open late...more on that later. The ports were nice, the private island was nice. The service on the ship was lacking overall. The bartenders did not care about anything and were over-pouring like crazy, which doesn't sound bad to some but it was more of if I make a strong drink now I won't have to serve you again.
It was to the point where we sat down at dinner the last night and were talking about how terrible the customer service was. I'm talking a group of hospitality majors, so we know how rough the industry can be, but we also know that a little bit can go a long way.
We had an experience that afternoon at the on board Johnny Rockets where they decided to overcharge on person in our party and undercharge the rest. When we asked the waiter about it, he didn't have much to say. Took it to the desk on ship and they said "well would you like me to charge the rest of your party? just keep it hush hush" uhhh really? great representation of your brand, Royal. Picked a winner there.
The cabin was older but overall nice. The house keeper was pretty much the nicest person on the ship.
LOVED Atlantis. It's been my dream to go there since I was a child and it did not disappoint. Was absolutely the best part of my cruise
