I had reservations after reading some of the previous reviews but decided to give Carnival Ecstasy a whirl for our family vacation (6 of us, ages ranging from 24 to 70). We had a great time. I mean, there's a water slide, a cash crane machine and access to an unlimited buffet to stuff your face basically whenever you want. We woke up to a new, tropical destination each day and spent the rest of the time staring at the ocean from the serenity deck hot tub while meeting new people and drinking cocktails.

The staff busted their asses non stop to make the experience memorable. I thought my mother was going to cry saying goodbye to our room steward, I Komang. He remembered our names, made a point to say hello to us, and was just a genuinely sweet man. Our waiters Santika and Pradeep also took the time to remember our names, kept on top of everything during the dinner mayhem (which looks pretty demanding) and managed to stop periodically for some dance numbers. The food is good, not amazing, but we had no complaints. There's plenty of variety and they kept everything flowing.

Benjamine, Stephan and the very funny Bingo caller (Bee's Heaven) were all a hoot. We met some fun people on the ship and absolutely loved our Nassau tour and snorkeling excursion. Freeport got hit by Hurricane Matthew and is a little rough right now, but Taino beach was pretty. The best part was it was relatively cheap and the entire family was entertained. If you are really picky just stay away, this isn't for you. If you are out to have a good time you will.
