My husband and I chose this cruise because we liked the itinerary. We embarked in Singapore, which is an amazing place. We arrived a day before embarkation and do recommend this. We stayed in Clarke Quay which is great to visit along with China town. This was our 2nd time to Singapore so we had already visited other major tourist attractions. Singapore is expensive though. Our embarkation was very quick and we were on board in no time. Being in a Concierge cabin we had a lunch set aside in a private room, but we didn't facilitate this as we wanted to explore the ship. Our cabin was initially on deck 8, number 8102, but due to a restricted view balcony, which we were not aware of, we were moved to deck 11 with an upgrade to Aqua Class. cabin 1107 a fantastic cabin with a large balcony and glass shower screen. This class was great as we could use the Persian Garden and had access to the Blue restaurant. Both our cabin boys were very attentive and helpful. Excursions, we did a few. We knew most trips we wanted to book would be a couple hours from the ports were we docked and we would have to be up very early for the coaches. This was not a problem for us, we just sat back in the coach and admired spectacular scenery we had never seen before. Bangkok was manic and beautiful, hundreds of motor bikes.Recommend a visit. If visiting north of Pattaya do have some Thai baht, as the restaurant we visited did not take US $. Visiting Ho Chi Minh (Saigon) and the Chu Chi tunnels together was well worth it. The tunnels very moving. Saigon very manic and again hundreds of motor bikes. Hoi An was really quaint and interesting place. Strongly recommend, but be careful if taking pictures in the outdoor market, as some sellers demanded money. Ha Long Bay was awesome as we sailed in at lunchtime. It is beautiful. We got off the ship and walked along the promenade for miles and couldn't believe the amount of building work in progress. There is a big amusement park within walking distance of where the tender dropped us off. There is cable car that seemingly carries 250 passengers. We did struggle to get taxis here due to the language barrier. Opposite the tender port is a bar and 5 star hotel offering free w fi, which was extremely useful as we did not pay the $300 for the Celebrity internet package. We knew the ship is older, but it did not disappoint. Some of the negative reviews we feel were unjust, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. If you want to cruise on a brand new supersize ship then this one may not be for you. All the staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. We ate 4 times in the speciality restaurants, Qusine and the Tuscin Grill and the food and service was superb. The Blue restaurant's food and service was even better. Entertainment on board was very good and the Theatre shows were great to watch. If you plan to sail on this cruise, look out for Mark the Cruise Director's colourful shoes. We must have seen the captain and his family almost every day, either walking on the decks or in the theatre. Disembarkation was smooth and went without issue. Our luggage was waiting for us when we got of the ship. We had a pre-booked taxi to our hotel in Kowloon Hong Kong and spent another 2 days exploring. Strongly recommend doing this. We are Elite members with Celebrity's Captains Club, cruising for the first time on the Galaxy and have never had a bad cruise with them. We loved this cruise and highly recommend it. We had a fantastic time and whilst on board booked another one.

Cabin Review

Aqua Class
Cabin A1 1107
Lovely bright and airy cabin with large balcony. Very quiet. The shower had a glass door, which is so much better to a shower curtain. The cabin location was very near to the back stairs leading to the bar at the back of the ship. We was very convenient.
