Our cruise on the Carnival Inspiration exceeded our expectations! Having read the negative reviews of a few we had some concerns but these proved to be unfounded. We booked through a Carnival vacation planner and this went quite smoothly as we were prior guests on Carnival so all of our information was still in the system. We picked this particular cruise because it fit into the complex family schedule of jobs and returning to school. We had been to both Grand Cayman and Cozumel previously but enjoyed new excursion experiences in both locations. We booked with Stingray Sailing in GC and hired a cab for a tour of the Island in Cozumel and then a short visit to Carlos and Charlies. The STingray sailing and snorkeling was excellent. Got to hold and feed the Stingrays and snorkel at a nearby reef. The Cozumel tour took us around the Island with stops at many different locations as well. Perfect for us as we live near the beach so did not need the extra beach time there. In Tampa boarding the ship went quickly and we were on the Lido deck enjoying ourselves with a drink in no time at all. The muster drill was even easy since we were able to sit down in the air conditioned lounge for the presentation. This was our 10th cruise and the food was very good, better than we anticipated, after having read some negative reviews. We made some new friends at dinner from the adjoining table and found the time to be very relaxing. We ordered the wine package so basically got one bottle free after paying for 4. We had breakfast and lunch either in the Lido buffet area, by the pool or in the dining room. Lines yeas but we could manage this pretty easily! The entertainment was very good, especially the Carnival dancers and singers. Very well done and don't see how anyone could be too critical of this group for cruise ship entertainment. The 2 comedians were crude at the adult versions which was to be expected and in our opinion both were actually better at the "G" rated versions. The magician was entertaining. Our room steward did a fine job and was friendly and courteous. Our waiter and assistant waiter were not the the best wait staff we have had but were average. They both needed to pay little more attention to some detail! The music and pool activities were enjoyable. The music better than we expected and much better than our prior Carnival experience. The bars and lounges were fun and we enjoyed the piano bar after or before the evening shows. There were lots of young kids on this cruise. We enjoyed watching them having fun from a distance! With a family of 5, we've been there and done that and believe everyone should enjoy their vacation. They did and we did too! Only 2 comments about the ship that would make the experience better for us. We wish there was a second pool and the Paris Lounge has lots of seats that are not easy to see the stage from. The balcony seats having obstructed views from almost every angle. All in all, very enjoyable!
