We chose this cruise because we had wanted to try a different cruise line from Carnival since we did Carnival for our previous cruise. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the cruise. There were so many people on the boat we were only able to book three of the shows on the cruise. That is saying a LOT due to the fact that we had 5 days at sea. Our tv program for booking shows and restaurants did not work most of the time. The service was either great, or completely terrible. We had a few servers who took EXCELLENT care of us, and others that were actually rude (including rushing us through our ordering process at a sit down restaurant, and a cocktail waitress sighed and rolled her eyes when we tried to get her attention.)

The stops at St, Thomas and Tortola were gorgeous and we had a great time exploring the Virgin Islands. There was bad weather that prevented us from stopping at the Bahamas, which was no fault of Norwegian but it did add another negative situation to add to all the others. I would also recommend double checking your reservation if you set it up online to make sure you get the promotional packages they promise for the room you choose. Our reservation was messed up online due to the initial room we chose was booked before we could put in payment information and after choosing a new room we lost our promotions without being notified that everything had been reset. I know that part is our fault for not checking, but it was definitely troublesome and there was nothing they would do for us on the ship. We ended up having to spend much more on on-board expenses than we had planned. Ultimately, I might actually choose to travel Norwegian again but only because I know better now and can make sure none of those same mistakes happen again, mostly choosing a ship with a smaller capacity. I felt like we couldn't be taken care of properly or take full advantage of what the ship had to offer because of how many people were on the ship and how crowded things were.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MA

The cabins were very nice, but I had to ask for everything. Even when I specifically asked for 8 sugars for my coffee via note left on coffee tray, I was only given 5. We had to ask for robes. We had to ask specifically for clean robes even after repeatedly leaving them in dirty towel piles, and the robe my husband got had badly torn pockets that hung down.

Port Reviews

Tortola

We took a tour for $25 around the entire island and got to see a 400 year old functioning rum distillery (YUM), and got to go to a beach. It was really an incredible experience!

St. Thomas

We took a taxi up the hill to see Blackbeards Castle and the Inn at Blackbeards Castle and it was amazing! They had so many artifacts and antique furniture that was hundreds of years old set up all around the Inn Museum. They also had locally distilled rum they gave samples of and it was probably the most delicious rum I have ever drank and I am a tequila girl all the way!
