Hawaii has been on our bucket list for a while but every time we priced it up we found it to expensive and would end up going to the Maldives, but when we priced up Hawaii on a Cruise it was in our price range and what a fantastic holiday we had. Me and my partner went and stayed at the Marriott on Waikiki beach resort for 2days and then went on the Pride of America on a Saturday afternoon, don't go to early as the room will be given to you until at leat 5pm.We were on the 10 deck with a balcony, Good size room with a small settee and all that you needed was in the cabin. You get charged for everything like water or anything out of the fridge. If you are looking after your pennies and don't want to keep paying for the water is buy the first bottle in the room and then keep filling it up at any of the restaurants free of charge, but make sure you don't put the plastic bottle under the tap you have to use a plastic cup and fills he bottle because of contamination. The other good tip is if you want to save money on the Gratuities which is automatically charged to your room per person per day it was $13.50 each, we went to the front desk and asked them to take them off and we would pay people who we felt deserved it. we had to fill out a form and saved nearly $300.Nobody tells you these things. We booked our excursions through the Concierge at the Marriott called Amanda she is very good and will save you lots of money. The meals on the ship were very good even for my partner who is a vegetarian, lots of choice and we only eat at the main restaurant.Just go and enjoy.
