We were actually on Carnival Conquest for back-to-back cruises. Both weeks had itineraries we enjoy with lots of beach time. The ship is decorated beautifully and tastefully with a French artist theme. The entertainers were superb. They have four production shows as well as single entertainers who come aboard for a show when they aren't having production shows. For game lovers they have Hasbro games one evening. That's always especially fun for families. The comedy club offers excellent stand up comedy most nights. Carnival still has elegant nights which we really enjoy. There is such a variety of food offered that it's hard to decide what and where to eat. We enjoy the waiters entertainment in the main dining room which they still do several evenings during the cruise. We have found that Carnival cares about our pleasure. If anything isn't just right, they really do want to know about it and will fix it as soon as possible.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8F

We cruise Carnival frequently. The cabins are comfortably furnished, large enough and provide plenty of storage space. The balcony is a must for us as we spend a considerable amount of time out there.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We generally go to the fort, but we only were there for a half day, so we enjoyed walking around and talking to the various street vendors. We also picked up some unique handmade souvenirs. They have knock off bags for sale too, which were nice, but we didn't buy any this trip.

Grand Turk

We love Carnival's pool, the beach and Margaritaville at Grand Turk, but we were there both cruises this vacation so the second week we took an island tour to see what was out there and really liked it, especially the donkeys at the lighthouse drinking water out of a bottle. They are very friendly and roam the island freely.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We stayed on the ship between our two cruises. It's fun sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale. It's a short run, but the people are out waving and some even holding "Bon Voyage" signs. The pilot is especially fun there too.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

The second cruise we went to Amber Cove for the first time. It is so beautiful. We took an excursion to Ocean World. They have the best set up for dolphins and dolphin experiences we've ever seen. The sea lion show was very good too. I wasn't too sure I liked what they did with the nurse sharks. I don't believe they could possibly be having fun. The parrots are real hams and put on a good show too. I don't recommend their beach there. We'd only swim there if we swim with the dolphins. We still had time to go to Carnival's Amber Cove pool after our excursion because we had a full day in port. It offers all kinds of activities. Anyone of any age could love that place.

Half Moon Cay

We love Half Moon Cay but realized in Feb. we wouldn't want to soak in the water all day because it would be on the chilly side. We'd had been for an experience with the Stingrays there before, which was very good, especially as good as the guide was to our granddaughter, but we had never seen the rest of the island. The tram takes you behind the scenes and tells you a bit about what's going on there. We were quite surprised to see the equestrian center is so large and has so many horses. We have seen some of them in the water with riders before, but this is the first we'd seen them up close. My daughter and granddaugter will ride horses there when we go there this summer.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We took a short tour with a local. He was not a good guide. We mostly did it to see what was beyond the port and what beaches might be good to go to in the future.
