Just wanted a short getaway without having to fly. Long Beach is about 40 minutes from us by car and very convenient. Parking's not cheap at $19 a day, however, and we ended up on the roof of the parking structure.
Check in was quick and efficient. We had lunch on board and did some exploring, got our bags about four hours later. Cabin was on Deck 8, pretty roomy with lots of storage.
Dinner the first night at Nick & Nora's was very good and not crowded at all. They offer a drink or wine discount incentive as the place was almost empty. We had a reservation but window seats were given to walk-ins; go figure.
Comfortable bed, lots of storage. Coat hangers are a bit annoying to remove and replace. Empty hangers will make noise as the ship moves so either tie them together or remove them. We always take tea lights and put them in the bathroom to provide softer light in the middle of the night.
Not much to do in Cabo. Just walked around shops and stuff, had nachos and Corona's at Solomon's. Pretty hot. We live near the beach so couldn't see paying for an excursion to go to the beach. Pick you time carefully as we spoke to some people staying in one of the resorts that was overrun with spring break kids.
Nice views of the city, good stops to shop and walk around.
Shopping and lunch at El Capitan on the beach. Good food, nice breeze.
"Cultural" tour of old city, tequila factory, hotels and beaches south of PV. Stopped at a lighthouse viewpoint and the church. Couple of shops, a quick break for guacamole and cervezas, then back to the boat.
