My husband and I chose this cruise because it fit our spring break plans (I work at a school, no kids went with us). Also, I cruised, with my mother, on the Regal Princess , Easter Caribbean last year and wanted different ports.
We flew into Ft. Lauderdale the day before and stayed at the Embassy Suites. A very busy hotel, very busy. We did enjoy a seafood restaurant, Southport Raw Bar, within a quick walk from the hotel. The next day we took an Uber to the port. The cost was very reasonable vs. the shuttle that a 3rd party operated out of the hotel.
We had a terrific embarkation experience - we left the hotel around 10:30. Easy. Access to all staterooms occurred at 1:00. We were in 6121. No problems with it, no sound from the Theater, would recommend it. The room steward was great and the layout was very good.
The layout was good. Sofa a bit rough as the leather was wearing. Plenty of storage under the bed for suitcases. Bathroom space was great.
We did not do anything but a bit of shopping and bought drinks at a local bar outside near the man made beach so we could get wi-fi. Loved this place vs. the commercial Senor Frogs next door.
We were picked up as scheduled and driven to a location where we secured bikes and rented them for several hours. Was a relaxing way to see some of Grand Cayman and visit local spots. Not much traffic. Got to go to Hell.
Loved this tour. Toured the town with a historical slant and ate food in several spots. Enjoyed it very much as it was a walking tour and we did not lose sight of the ship!
