Sail Date: Dec 2016

We chose this cruise for the opportunity to visit ports on the Mediterranean during the Christmas Season. In addition, because we have had so many excellent river cruises with Viking, we wanted to try the new Viking ocean cruises on the new ships. The embarkation process was problematic due to fog preventing the ship from entering the port of our planned embarkation. This resulted in a lengthy, tiring and frustrating eight hours trying to finally get onboard the ship after an exhausting flight from the states. However, once we were onboard, everything went with Viking efficiency. We certainly enjoyed the ship and the included and optional tours provided by Viking. The onboard experience was relaxing and informative. The ship itself was exceptionally clean and beautiful. Lots of activities are provided onboard, mostly for your personal enlightenment (think lectures, productions in the theater and movies) and physical enjoyment (think spa and swimming and walking). The cabin was certainly up to Viking standards and the service provided by the Viking staff was, as always, impeccable. Dining, whether in the informal café or more formal or specialty restaurants, was also top notch. We were so impressed with this cruise that we signed up for another ocean cruise with Viking. The post-cruise extension in Madrid was also excellent and well planned. The hotel was also well chosen and the Viking staff, as always, was attentive and informative.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

The cabin was outstanding in every way. The bathroom was spacious and well kept. The veranda balcony was exceptional.

Port Reviews

Toulon

Just walked around the port and took a bus tour. All this was excellent and well handled.
