We choose this cruise based on the itinerary. South America was on our bucket list and Celebrity offered a decent price with perks so we decided to book it. It was a great experience. We love the Infinity (this is our 3rd trip on it) and although the individual staterooms are a bit worn, the public areas are not showing the ravages of wear that we found in the stateroom (i,e, threadbare sheets and towels, furniture worn out). The food was very good - there were some misses in the dining room but our waiter was outstanding and always let us know that we could have another dinner selection if we weren't satisfied. The food was always the right temperature, the bread was fresh and the deserts were beautiful!
We went to all Mickey Live events and participated in the photo exchange. Very enlightening and the shared photos are a much appreciated benefit. They had a botanist on board and he gave a few lectures on plant life in South America. We did not see all the entertainment but we did enjoy the performances that we saw in the main theatre.
I think Celebrity offers a great experience for a fair price. The staff was the best we have ever had on a ship. Every single person we had contact with had a smile and "can do" attitude. We met the ship's captain and he was very personable and although safety was his primary focus, he tried to make sure that all guests had a trip of a lifetime. I am very grateful for his sailing through the fjords and having Mickey give a running commentary of what we were seeing.
