My boyfriend and I chose this cruise soley because we were attending a private function onboard (BGG@SEA; a boardgaming event), and this is the cruise it happened to be on. But we are very glad it was on this ship because it was absolutely amazing! Very beautiful, well designed, the food, entertainment and staff were all exceptional, and the ports we stopped at were nice (destinations were not really important to us as we were mostly interested in being on the ship, and being anywhere sunny and warm). We had a 'large interior stateroom' and it was relatively spacious and very nice. The ship is huge, and there were over 6000 passengers and over 2000 crew and it never really felt crowded; you could always find a spot to sit and be away from people. We especially loved the Solarium area at the front, deck 15/16 (adults only, relaxing atmosphere), and the two cantelevered hot tubs on Deck 15--great views over the ocean! The 'Escape the Rubicon' puzzle room was really fun. very well done and highly recommended. We enjoyed all the complimentary shows; 'Columbus' and 'The Fine Line' were our favorites. All of the complimentary food options were excellent, and more than enough variety; I see no reason at all to spend extra money at the fancier restaurants, although it's nice to have the option for those who wish to.
Spacious, clean, comfortable bed, nice shower. Our stateroom attendant (Arless) was very friendly and courteous, and did a fantastic job keeping our room nice and clean and stocked.
We took a taxi to Maho Beach for the experience of watching the planes land and take off. We went early (we arrived at the Beach at 9:05am) and it was a good thing, because at that time the beach was very empty and so pretty for pictures. By 10:30 it was getting crowded and by noon it was a zoo! It was a very beautiful, but small beach, the planes were cool to see/feel, and there was a great bar/grill with yummy burgers. This was my favourite port activity of our cruise.
We did not do an excursion, but we did leave the ship and walk around the shops in Nassau on our own. It was easy to get around, and there were a few interesting shops. Lots of people trying to get you to do their tours, buy their goods etc, but that's to be expected.
We stayed at Hollywood Beach for 2 nights following our cruise, and it was a lovely way to end our vacation. We stayed at The Silver Spray Motel, which was great! Only a 2-3 min walk to the beach and 3 mile long broadwalk with tons to offer as far as food/drinks/beachware/souvenir shopping. Very nice beach, lots of room, chairs/umbrellas available for a fee, lifeguards.
