We chose the Regal Princess because we had sailed on her sister ship, the Royal Princess, 3 years ago and absolutely loved it! My wife and I traveled with another couple, and we had a fantastic week. Long line at embarkation, but it moved along fairly well. The ship is beautiful - lots of glass and bronze, amazing piazza area, very nice cabins (ours had a balcony - I recommend this, especially if you are afraid of sea-sickness). The ship is immaculate - kept so clean! The service was great, especially our wait staff in the dining room. All the workers were very polite, greeting us as we passed in hallways, etc.

We researched destinations, and decided that we wanted to revisit the port of St. Thomas so we could take the water taxi to St. John - amazing beaches! The food was fantastic - dining room, buffet (endless choices), desserts - all wonderful! We do not go to the premium dining venues. No need - the included food options are so good!

Entertainment was spectacular! The main theater shows were all good. They flew in a soprano from Broadway, and she was wonderful. Not my style of music, as such, but I still greatly enjoyed her singing. The ship's singing and dancing troupe was great every time we saw them, as was the comedian they had on board. We also enjoyed the Princess Live experience - a TV studio where they tape game shows, interviews, etc., and then broadcast them on the TVs in the cabins at night. Lots of fun.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BE

Very nice. Good service, though our steward was less visible than we have experienced on other cruises. Great view off the balcony, but, as expected, it was quite coated with salt most of the trip. Even more so, since it was so windy.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Just embarked and disembaraked here. No excursion, etc.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

We reted an "oceanside cabana," but when we got there, we found it was a small cabin on stilts in the water! It was very nice, and likely would have been my favorite day had the weather been nicer. Cool and rainy throughout our time there, so no use of the water toys (kayaks, paddleboats) and no swimming. But the facilities were nice. Can't control the weather!
