Sail Date: Nov 2016

We sailed the Norwegian Epic two days after Thanksgiving last year from Port Canaveral for a 7-Day cruise to: Tortola, British Virgin islands; St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. We zipped through embarkation and went straight to the buffet for an early lunch. The food was fine. We each had a rolling bag that is international carry-on size, so they were manageable. Checked our room early, found that it was already cleaned and dropped off the bags before we went exploring.

As the week went on, the food seemed to go downhill and the crowds waiting for elevators seemed to grow. I thought the entertainment was good, though. My husband was disappointed that there weren't fun little side activities as he enjoyed on Princess, such as putt-putt by the lobby or ring toss, where the winner gets a bottle of champagne. (Yes, he won both games and gave a bottle away.) Or line dancing lessons with professional dancers from the shows. (I really enjoyed that!)

Pros: I loved the beautifully contemporary cabin decor, that the sink was separate from the toilet and I could pull a curtain for privacy at the sink and enclosed toilet/shower area; staff was everywhere with spray bottles of sanitizer and I never felt ill from food; photographers were polite and not pushy; Christmas decor made the ship very festive and great for our own photo ops; entertainment in the Manhattan Room (MDR), from a guitarist to the sizzling preview of the "Burn the Floor" show; Shows: "Burn the Floor" had fabulous dancers and really good singers; "Cirque Dreams" was a small, intimate venue. Pretty cool as we sat right next to the stage and had a wonderful time watching such talented performers up-close-and-personal!; the islands were lovely to view; the night glow party on the adult top deck was great! They passed out foot long glow tubes that everyone waved to the fun music in the dark!; the ice cream machine was outside so I could still get some when the restaurants locked up for the night; there was Indian food, one of my faves; Le Bistro has the best food!!!
