My husband reminded the front desk and dining room staff THREE times that nothing had been done for my Birthday and was assured each time that "We are on top of it and it will be taken care of" but never had anything put on our door or any acknowledgement at dinner. The dining room service was the s l o w e s t we've ever had on any cruise. The few times we went to the Horizon Court buffet, it was difficult to get water or beverage service. We actually got up and helped ourselves on two occasions.
The Captain was unusually friendly and quite amusing; not sure if this was a plus or minus. The Star Princess seemed to be due for an in-yards refurbishing-the public areas appeared "worn". Given the poor service both in our cabin and in the dining areas, I would not recommend this ship to anyone.
If this had been my first Princess Cruise, I would never take another.
Took us four days to get our mini-fridge operational and with a shelf. Cabin had trash on the floor when we first came aboard and the trash pieces were not vacuumed up for an entire week. Could never seem to get any ice. Steward was more interested in visiting in the passageway than seeing to cabins.
