Most of the staff members were very rude, especially towards Americans. ( Very specifically, Frank at the Front Desk - when I questioned an erroneous charge on my bill he rolled his eyes and said "You must be American"). Constantly erroneously overcharged on our ship board account and had to go to the front desk everyday to question it and have them removed. This was our 2nd time cruising with Princess and we brought 10 people with us who had never cruised with Princess before, and are likely to never do so again. Also, my husband was served glass in his drink. They didn't care, and didn't offer an apology. The servers and staff members involved lied on their incident reports and we were lied to about the disciplinary measures that were taken to address the matter. This ship is not worth the additional price. They treat smokers like 2nd class citizens, putting the main smoking area on deck 17 at the very back of the boat away from the main entertainment and bars, with not so muich as even a built in speaker to offer any entertainment. The bar 1 deck below that serviced the area would close at 10pm every night despite there being 50-75 people there.

Port Reviews

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata)

shopping only but a nice pool and bar area.

St. Thomas

for $25 got an awesome tour of the Island and then driven right back to the ship ( since you get charged $4 for a shuttle back - the tour was really $21) Tour guide was fun and knowledgeable. Dealt with Luen and Joe.
