We are NCL Rewards oriented now after 7 cruises on Norwegian. We have tried 3 other cruise lines but the freestyle cruising packages suit us very nicely. We tend to choose smaller ships in the NCL line, but for some cruises there are no choices other than what the route and program demands. This was our first cruise on the Epic and we found it a bit of a challenge finding our way around sometimes. One of the main restaurants TASTE was located in a place that stopped one from going forward to far on that level, meaning you had to go through the smoke filled casino. The casino is a separate story to be told a little later.

The Shows on the Epic were great including the Burn the Floor Dance show that we saw twice it was so good. We saw the musical Priscilla live on the Epic Stage and had the chance to compare it with the movie of the same name that was showing on our room television. Very close to the movie and very compelling and well acted. We had a Junior Suite, wonderful with balcony - worth the extra money.

Food was great at the various venues and the all you can drink alcohol beverage meant we could have a wine or a beer or mixed drink anywhere, any time without worrying about the bill at the end of the cruise. We likely did not use up to what the cost would have been if we'd paid for it on a per/person basis - we're a little too old or too smart to drink that much but wine at dinner, beers or wine at lunch, cocktails (Mango Meltdown our favorite) was fantastic.

Cabin Review

Cabin junior suite with balcony

Wonderful cabin although my wife did not like the lay-out with the toilet and tub/shower combinations. Lots of room, great view - lots of storage for clothing, TV relatively easy to operate. Bed because it was curved was a little short for us - I am only 5'11" and my feet hung over the edge - my wife's too and she is 5' 7", tall by women's standards but her toes hung over the edge a bit too.
