Our 12-night sailing on Grandeur of the Seas was exactly what we needed - a break from what passes for winter in the Mid-Atlantic and from the normal home chores. Royal Caribbean must be doing quite well with this ship - there were no Junior Suites available when we booked the cruise a year in advance and it took until final-payment week for one to open up! We love sailing from Baltimore - it's only an hour drive, right off I-95, and easy to get around. The only minor drawback is that it may take a day of sailing in winter before you can sit outside, but there's enough to do on board.
Cabin:
Our cabin (8048) was right off the center staircase but set back so we never heard anything from the Centrum in our cabin, something we had noticed our two previous sailings on Grandeur. This was a great mid-ship location with easy access to the stairs and elevators. Great location to walk up to the Solarium for a drink!
Our location also put us under the Solarium section with minimal foot traffic, which meant we only heard noise from above when they were moving a chair or rolling something heavy to set up a meal. The cabin was fine, but showing some signs of age - we had to ask them to fix two drawers and the closet doors that wouldn't stay closed. Those repairs were handled with no problems. We would definitely book this cabin again.
Great port for embarkation/disembarkation. Right off I-95!
Lovely island and beaches but disappointed with RCI's choice to use Crown Bay
Great trip to see Pitons, volcano, rainforest, and coast line.
Lovely island and we've been there multiple times. The park/square in town is a relaxing place to sit and people watch.
Great beaches - went to Dawn Beach for a day of wave watching.
