We choose Oasis of the Seas because our first cruise was on a smaller competitor's ship. We saw it while at one of our ports of call and decided to see how a mega ship compared.

The ship was amazing! Fantastic design, sea-worthiness, artwork, cleanliness, spacious rooms. The staff were wonderful! Very friendly, committed to excellence, and great customer service. Entertainment was world class! The only thing not 5 star was the complimentary dining with the exception of the main dining area (American Icon dining room was excellent). The Windjammer buffet had much to choose from but the quality was below average for many of the items. Solarium Bistro was good at first but seemed like it was closed more than it was open and did not have much to choose from. Complimentary ice cream was non existent at night (we did notice the Windjammer started providing it on the last two nights). We did not have the means to eat at the pay restaurants but heard the quality and variety was good. We did not purchase shore excursions but heard they were great.

The dining (complimentary) is the only thing that prevented this cruise from being perfect.

Cabin Review

Large Interior Stateroom

Cabin K

Great room. Was nervous about the casino being above but not excessively noisy. Slept well all night.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

Parking to get on the ship was crazy! I think we were too early and got there when previous cruisers were leaving. Once parked gitting onboard was easy. Did the early departure and it went fine. Took about 45 minutes with no waiting.

Nassau

Walked off the ship to shop. Lots of pressure from street vendors but felt safe.

St. Maarten

Took a water taxi from the dock to the small port town to shop. Non stop offers to rent a beach chair. Was hoping to find bicycles to rent but no luck. Walked the entire town in one hour. Wish we would have rented a moped and explored the island.

St. Thomas

Stayed on the ship since there did not appear to be shopping available by walking other than the typical cruise village.
