My husband and I decided to take a cruise for our honeymoon because we needed some well-deserved relaxation and it was a great deal! We chose the 7 day Western Caribbean cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely cruise again, probably within the next few years. We drove to Fort Lauderdale and used Park'N Fly. Next time we depart from Fort Lauderdale, I will use another parking service. When we called them to pick us up at the end of our cruise no one answered the phone. Someone finally answered after 30 minutes. Embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. I was especially impressed by how quick disembarkation was! We stayed in a balcony room on the Caribe deck. I have no complaints about our room or the service. Our room was wonderful and all the staff onboard were very helpful! I was happy to find some shelving and room for our toiletries in the bathroom. Helpful tip, bring an over the door organizer/shoe rack.

Our ship stopped at Roatan, Honduras, Belize City and Cozumel. I recommend them all! We did not book an excursion in Roatan. We got a cab who drove us to the West End and spent the rest of our time at Mahogany Bay. Warning, the cabs in Roatan are expensive and the cab drivers can be a little pushy! We told our driver that we wanted to visit Coxen Hole but he told us there was nothing to do there and convinced us to visit West End. We drove through Coxen Hole on our way to the West End, there were plenty of shops and restaurants there. We had planned to spend our time exploring the town for a couple hours and having our driver pick us up when we were ready. We didn't realize that the driver would stay with us the whole time and would charge for extra time. We ended up getting baleadas(you must try these), buying some cake from a roadside vendor and stopping by a local grocery store for Honduran coffee, plantain chips and local candy! Mahogany Bay offered a great beach and several restaurants but none sold traditional Honduran food. We were told that Belize City was not safe to explore on our own so we purchased a shore excursion to visit Altun Ha. I cannot recommend it enough! We got to see part of Belize City by bus on our way to the ruins. Our tour guides were very informative and did a wonderful job. Tip-there are souvenirs for sale at the ruins but you can buy similar items for a cheaper price at the port. After our tour we had a traditional Belizean lunch and took a boat ride back to the port. We saw monkeys, crocodiles, iguanas, bats and manatees! In Cozumel, we purchased an excursion through Delta to swim with manatees at the Chanakanab Park. Again, I cannot recommend this excursion enough! We paid about $100.00 for a picture cd and 2 prints. There are enough activities at the park to occupy your entire day but we spent the rest of our day in San Miguel.

Food on the ship was excellent! We had dinner at the Crowne Grill our first night onboard. It was one of the best meals I have ever had! We ate dinner in the dining rooms most nights, anytime dining. Pizza was great. Try the room service!

Cabin BC

We stayed on the Caribe deck. There was plenty of room in our cabin. Our room steward did a great job! Our room was towards the middle of the ship, we could barely feel the ship moving.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We did not spend much time here. Embarkation went smoothly. Just be prepared to stand in a long line.

Roatan

Make sure to try a traditional Honduran baleada and a Port Royal cerveza! We picked up some Hondruan coffee to take home from a local supermarket. There were Garifuna entertainers and some exhibits on Garifuna culture at the port that I found interesting. The shopping at the port was fair. I was excited that there is an Espresso Americano at the port. This is a chain coffee shop that serves delicious, sugary coffee drinks. This was my favorite port!
