This is a huge ship with large crowds. I knew that as I booked our trip, what I didnt know was that the management of all the activities, entertainment, food areas etc, was going to be so poor.
Windjammer - main eating area was very small (smaller than the same areas in other ships) with short hours of operation. They close at 9pm - if you want to have a late dinner you are screwed. During peak hours the line to get into the restaurant is super long - mostly because they have limited hours and half the time only one side is open. The food was very good, however temperature was a constant problem (much of the food was warm instead of hot)
Zipline - very short hours of operation creating long lines when open.
Rockwall - same as zipline, they have 2 rock walls and i only saw one open at a time all cruise. 1 hour wait time for my 10 year old to climb, he sliped on his third step and that was it, he was not allowed to try again... he left crying.
Flowrider - again, very short hours of operation creating long lines.
Towel stations - with 6500 guests you would think that there would be lots of towel stations... nope only 2 and they would close one repeatedly because of staffing issues.
ice show - we got there 30min before the sow started (we had reservations). my kids like to be front center to see the show up close and interact with the characters. The first 3 rows were blocked off for the high priced cruisers (Im OK with that) however 10min before the show starts and with no notice to the folks that waited for those good seats they open the rows and all the last minute comers take the best seats... again, poorly managed.
Sorrento Pizza - only open during peak hours and not open in late morning or after 9pm. Again, poor management.
Ice cream machines in pool area - only 2 of them open during peak times, not available in late morning or after 7pm. Again, poor management
I could write another 2 pages with the same theme - poor management, short staffing everywhere.
The one place that was staffed adequately was the large sales they had in the promenade area. the place looked like a flea market from a third world country, including the up selling and harassing that you normally find in the islands. instad of a place to walk and enjoy they turned it into a circus (a very well staffed circus).
Take my advise and avoid this ship - bigger is NOT better. If you enjoy long lines, activities you cannot attend because they are closed or too crowded then this is your cruise.
i just got off this ship 3 hours ago and my goal in this blog in to warn future travelers to stay away.
BTW - this is not my first rodeo, I've cruised over 40 times on just about all the companies out there. This trip was in my worst 5.
Clean, but poorly laid out
Computers were down - took us 2 hours to check in
