Lovely as it gets dark

We really enjoyed our cruise. Our first one, we were impressed with all of the list of activities. We thought the public areas were crowded, but after awhile we learned there are busy and quieter places on the ship, we just had to explore and find them.

We used the Carnival Hub app to stay in touch with each other, well worth the $5 per cruise for the whole week.

The steakhouse, The Pinnacle on 11th deck aft was well worth the extra money. Best meal we had all cruise. We enjoyed the buffet and went to the Black Pearl dining room 3 times. The Black Pearl dining room was lovely, service just excellent, but overall we found the quality of the food lacking, just average. Pizza on the Lido deck 9 was just excellent and we liked the self serve soft ice cream as well as the Grill - hamburg and hotdogs every once in a while. The BBQ on 10th floor Lido deck is a little hidden away and open noon - 2:30pm - don't miss it, was really good.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8D

Balcony room on deck 8 - although below Lido buffet restaurant, we did not find it noisy. We were 3 adults in the room and although small, it was very functional and worked well for us. We brought an adapter so we could use the international outlet in the bathroom and an extension cord for the main stateroom because there is only one outlet in the whole room. Room service of coffee and juice each morning was a very nice way to start the day. We also brought a bungee cord so we could keep the door to the balcony open from time to time, was very nice to have the sea air in our room sometimes.

Port Reviews

Belize City

We did a city tour (you could skip this, City was unremarkable and rather depressing) and went to Kukumba beach - was a lot of fun and a very nice facility.

Roatan

Mahogany Bay beach was a few minute walk from the cruise ship dock and was specifically developed by Carnival for this port stop. It was excellent and other than your drinks or food, was free - rental of water toys available, too, at a cost.

Cozumel

Took taxi to Paradise Beach, which was very nice, lovely pool, showers. Beach was really busy with kids and families. The floating poop turd was extremely gross and we swam in the pool after that. Beach service of drink and food was extremely fast, excellent service. We enjoyed resting on chairs under the palm trees.
