Okay, honestly after getting the notice of the engine problem reducing the top cruising speed, the change of ports, and reading some horrible reviews of very recent cruises with bad orders and rocking ship, we were worried. We had been on Paradise before so knew what to expect as far as amenities and size of the ship, but we were extremely pleased with our entire cruise.

Smooth sailing, great food, great service, lots of smiling faces among the staff, including not only our room attendant, but everyone on the ship we encountered. Added to all this was one of the very best cruise directors, Jamie, we have ever had. We are 70, but still enjoyed the high energy stage shows although a bit more variety would have been nice.

The added stop at Costa Maya was delightful with a nice promenade along the water with lots of small resorts to enjoy. BTW although the price of a ride to the "boardwalk" is only $2 -$3, it is also a delightful easy walk of a little over 2 miles . They created a shaded walkway that runs down the middle of the main street you walk most of the way..very nice.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6B

Carnival cabins are nice with even a small ledge you can curl up and sit on (if you are smallish) to enjoy your oceanview. In fact, the way the cabin is laid out with the bed in the center you can stand and easily look out the window and at night see the moon and stars from the bed itself. Cabin is a nice distance from the steps and elevator and VERY close to where you leave the ship at the various ports.
