We flew into Miami a night early. There was a bit of a snafu with the Pullman hotel, but NCL sorted it out right quick and we were soon ready to explore. We had enough time to grab some last minute items at the nearby CVS and some Cuban food for lunch. Sunset over the lagoon was beautiful!
Embarkation was our only real gripe. I have a wallet that is decorated - including two metal crossed revolvers. After three searches and two trips through the scanner, they finally decided that they were problematic and violated the no weapons policy. Nonsensical, but quickly remedied by handing it over to the ship staff, to be retrieved after the cruise.
The ship staff had the drinks ready and the food on hand to entertain those of us who boarded early, and it was nice to walk about and get a feel for the ship. Staterooms were soon ready, and we got changed into "ship standard" bathing suits and tshirts. There was definitely a spring break contingent, but they weren't terribly bothersome to us.
Our cabin was small but comfortable, and the balcony was amazing - just big enough to read and enjoy a cup of coffee, or watch the sun rise. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of hot water for showers, and the staff kept our room immaculate. Eduardo, our steward. introduced himself on the first night and was always on hand to help us out.
