We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, ticking off our bucket list. The embankment was quick and we were on board and in our cabin in no time, although princess did text us before the cruise saying there maybe long waits but this was not the case for us.
A very relaxing cruise with lots of sea days. Argentina and Brazil were well worth seeing we took princess organised trips which were excellent and very informative. Salvador was somewhat scary which princess warned us about. Several passengers were robbed of cameras and phones but we were told not to go off the ship with these things exposed, so we went off ship In simple clothes and a small bag with no phones or cameras out in the open. So we were fine.
Sailing across the equator was good and the ship made it a special, which was fun. We had 5 days sailing until we reached the Carribean.
Going round the islands is always fun and of course the weather was great.
The crown princess was fantastic although several other reviews say it was showing its age but I disagree, yes it's getting old but it still is a beautiful ship. The staff were all very helpful and the food was also great. The only problem I would say, on sea days there was a shortage of chairs around the pool. I believe this was because people save a chair and go off for hours before they return. We had a balcony cabin on caribe 718 towards the end of the ship, port side. It was in a good position for lifts to get to the horizon. My husband is a smoker so it was easy for him to go up to floor 16 above horizon to have a smoke outside. If you are a smoker there are also areas on the 7th deck stair board side aft. You can smoke on deck 16 forward by the 'outrigger' bar. There is also a smokers lounge on deck 7 at the speakeasy beside the casino.
We travelled as a couple and the age of most travellers were between 45-80s with a few young people. I would recommend this cruise if you enjoy sea days.
The cabin was in a good position as said above. Our steward was excellent his name was Garry.
