This was my second cruise on Pacific Jewel. A food and wine cruise from Sydney calling in at Eden. Unfortunately we had bad weather so we couldn't tender at Eden, which was a shame. But the food and wine stuff on board was good. Guest chefs were Elena Duggan (Masterchef winner 2016) and Daniel from Fork N' Knife. They did a 'cook off' show and had a box of various ingredients they had to cook as many dishes as they could in the allotted time. They also had an assistant from the audience, and it was a very funny show! There was also a chocolate specialist and a guy from Glandore wines on board who did wine and chocolate tastings. These were for a fee, I think $25 but I didn't attend.

There were a couple of other culinary shows featuring the chefs as well. So lots on board if you are interested in the food and wine bit.

I was onboard for a school reunion, and the staff in the dining room were very helpful arranging our table for dinner. Service in the main dining room was excellent, and the food was great too.

Cabin Review

Cabin Balcony

Room seemed small, I think it was because we had two single beds in there instead of a queen (I was on a school reunion so shared with a friend). Balcony is also small, only enough room to pop out and have a look over at the water. Still, nice to have a balcony for fresh air but as this was only a three night cruise we didn't really use it much.

Room was functional, bathroom was fine, with a large shower.

Room was quiet, we had no problems.

Port Reviews

Sydney (Australia)

Embarkation port. I caught the ferry from Bangaroo (back of Wynyard Station) to White Bay for $9. Easy.
