We love Princess Cruise Lines and this is our third time on the Royal. It is a beautiful ship. Ironically this time there were a few children on the ship so we ended up realizing there is an adult retreat pool. We did not seek this pool on previous cruises as we thought you had to pay extra to use it but that is not correct. The pool and hot tubs were lovely. It was very peaceful and included a bar and bar service.

Although the lack of an additional staircase did not bother us on our previous cruises, we certainly enjoyed the addition of the staircase on this cruise.

We only have a couple of concerns about our recent cruise but not big enough to not cruise the same ship again. The embarkation was handled slightly differently. We did not feel we were allowed to enjoy the platinum/elite expedited embarkation. We were all in one line until almost to check in. It was very confusing. We purchased the drink package which changed on this cruise. In the past a sticker was on your cruise card. Not this time. Staff were not aware of the change. Lastly, the food was good, but not great.

The interior room on the Royal is a decent size with plenty of storage space. The location of this room was perfect to access the gym, pool, buffet areas.
