The watered down orange juice at the embarkation terminal set the standard for the whole cruise. Embarkation was disorganized as was just about everything else to do with this cruise. It was our first cruise and mostly certainly our last with MSC.
Everything seemed to be geared towards squeezing every last euro out of passengers.
The food in the huge eating area at the stern of the ship was very poor and often barely warm. I have had better in a works canteen. The food in the Red Velvet restaurant was okay.
We had paid for a package(Aurea Experience) up front which included drinks amongst other things. The choice, drink wise, was dreadful and you had to sign the waiter/waitresses chitty every time you were served drinks. We checked the chitty each time and it showed 0.00 however on receiving our bill prior to disembarkation we discovered that MSC were charging us 9 euros for every time we were served drinks despite the fact we had already paid a service charge up front. We refused to pay it as did other passengers.
"Aurea Experience" !!?? - more of a bad experience.
I could go on and on about all the bad points but at 65 years of age I need to use my time wisely.
Good points - balcony cabin and pleasant staff.
Good sized cabin with small balcony. Cabin was clean and practical. No complaints.
