At our 58th anniversary we booked a four days since we live in Yorba Linda, approximately a 45 minute drive to the cruise ship. The drive was easy but in the morning there are a lot of truckers with containers on the same road. There was plenty of parking in the garage at 11:00 am. There is a seven minute walk from the garage to the ship. Check-in was uneventful, except now you cannot bring bottled water to the ship. It was taken away, also empty bottles so you can't refill them. Southern California had a cold spell when we started our cruise. The main disappointment for our cabin and the ship as a whole was: "The ship has not heat". Yes, that's right, no heat in the cabin, or on the ship as a whole, only air conditioning. At age 82 I get cold. We ask for portable heaters, but he cruise line said they have none; it would create a fire danger. We were supplied with extra blankets, and we slept in our pajamas plus wrapped in the bathroom robes. The ship's carpet were fairly new and clean and the personnel was super friendly. Only the Carnival Inspiration has a unique buffet room decorated with shining 8" winding pipes, lit with at the end with a lighted dome, that felt to us like snakes all over. We dined thereafter in our assigned dining room. That was nice, but no more white tablecloths, except on fancy night. Formal has been done away with. On the plus side, the Aft deck has large and small water slides, that should be great fun for kids in warm weather.

Cabin Review

Porthole
Cabin PT M10
The cabin felt like newly renovated. Clean nearly new carpet, furniture the same way. Bathroom good, no mold, with a unique shining new blue fiberglass floor and in the shower.
The portholes (2) sit in a large wall cutout, approximately three feet deep from the wall, so it is hard to survey your outside surroundings from you cabin.
The cabin was quiet, except when the ship used the forward thrusters, and they ran them twice for almost an hour while docking. The noise will be heard in all the surrounding cabins.
