Our second time on a 14 day Eclipse. Overall a great trip for us. Simple, quick embarkation. A bit windy, with moderate to heavy seas at times. Well handled by Captain Leo and crew. I would say average age of cruisers to be 50 and older. Very few children. Great room attendant. Never walked past a crewmember that didn't say hello. Clean ship, with workers always cleaning something. Great captain, Leo, equals great crew. Average entertainment. Specialty dining package was great deal. We took an 8 night. Murano 3x, Tuscan 2x, Qsine 2x, Sushi on 5 1x, but went there 3 other times. All very good with very good service. Oceanview was good at night also. Great selection of grilled fish. Breakfast there was always busy and had many choices. Tough to get a table at times. Also felt invisible at times as other cruisers would feel it was ok to cut the line to get to the buffet trays. Rudeness is not the fault of the ship. Casino Host, Ralph, was great. All staff in casino were pleasant, and equally professional. Bar service was very good, yet lacking as far as pool servers went. Could use a few more walking around, especially on sea days. This was the only service that needed some help. The ones that were there, were working double time. Did our own excursions after reading cruise critic tips from others, as well as our own experiences in the past. One other unusual thing happened. We were actually involved in a rescue at sea. 4 St Lucian fisherman adrift for 5 days, were spotted by crew members signaling SOS, in the pitch dark, at a very far distance. Very far from home. I'd say they had the best day of their lives. Ship turned and saved these guys with lifeboat. Great job by crew in bit choppy seas. Definitely an unusual highlight. Can't wait till next cruise on Summit next.
