I picked this cruise because I've sailed 5 times with Royal Caribbean and the last cruise we took out of Galveston on the Navigator was a blast. Our ports were Roatan Honduras, Belize City Belize, and Cozumel Mexico. The ports were great and we enjoyed to zip line in Roatan, Starfish Island in Belize, and swimming with the Dolphins in Cozumel. No problems there except the food at our Dolphin adventure was terrible. Make sure if you go to Starfish Island that you wear water shoes since the sand is tiny shells and can be rough on your feet. We took previous advice and was glad someone wrote that in a review I read.

The cruise ship experience was the worst we've had with Royal and many I talked to felt the same way. First three days the water was so rough they had to close the outdoor pools and some of the water slides but that was not Royal's fault. Many people and a few crew were seasick including my wife on the third day. When you travel with Royal and you become a Platinum member you receive robes to use during your cruise. We had to go to the services desk 3 times, ask our room steward, and even called housekeeping to no avail. I was finally able to secure robes at 11 pm our first night (totally unacceptable) by asking the service desk how many times is acceptable service when a guest requests something and she stated once. I told her this is my 5th time of which she looked up and said they would be in our rooms in 5 minutes. My first request was at 2 pm.

The room was in fair condition - bathroom sink was chipped and someone had smear some kind of chemical that melted the surface about the size of a softball. The balcony glass had the same thing thrown on it which make about 50% of one window pane useless to sit and look out at. The shower door on the outside was losing paint in several areas. Never had this in any other ship we've sailed on and I've sailed on older ones than this one. The service in the main dining room was very slow several nights and the food was just okay. The other people at our table also had sailed a number of times on Royal and stated they had never seen this before either.

Fantastic getting on ship. Taxi took us to a door, bell person took our luggage and we were on the ship in 10 minutes. Getting off was the worst experience of line waiting I've ever done in my 64 years. It took almost 2 hours to just get to see Customs and it wasn't their fault. We were thru in 4 minutes. It was the Royal people directing the lines. They did not know what they were doing. Some lines went twice before ours moved and the one line next to us yelled at the lady because they had not moved in over 20 minutes. Royal needs to rethink their system especially those who carry their luggage off which slowed the whole system down.
