Originally, we planned this cruise to complete the circle of the Mediterranean following our earlier cruise from Barcelona to Rome. Sadly, mechanical issues resulted in our cruise going from Barcelona, almost to Toulon, France, and then back to Barcelona for 12 days. We were offered the opportunity to remain on board with access to free shore excursions, free shuttles to and from the city, and of course, all the services of the ship. What could have been a huge disappointment turned into one of our best travel experiences. We explored Barcelona and the surrounding area with gusto. The staff and crew were nothing short of amazing, never letting us feel mistreated. There were unexpected financial considerations made as well, so in all, we felt not cheated, but rewarded. Viking Ocean is certainly our first choice for future cruises (we have in fact already booked another), and we anticipate more, positive experiences. We did not partake of the on-board entertainment, with one exception, but anecdotal feedback from other cruisers indicated a great deal of success. The exception was the staff bringing a flamenco experience on board for our viewing pleasure, and they were a total delight!

Cabin Review

Given the limited storage available, more hooks for hanging would be appropriate.
