The seven night, "Mediterranean Getaway" on the new "Viking Sky" was a wonderful trip on a wonderful sailing vessel. We took this cruise on the "Viking Sky's" maiden voyage from Rome to Barcelona. From our point of view, everything went off without a hitch. We had been on the other two Viking Cruise ships; The Viking Sea and The Viking Star, so we knew what to expect from the Viking Sky and it did not disappointment. We had a Penthouse Veranda Stateroom, which we love. It is roomy and comfortable and well appointed. The food and service on these ships are impeccable. Our cabin stewards were very attentive and addressed us by our names. My husband walks with a walker and everyone was always offering to help him. Food on the ship was remarkable. We never had a meal we did not like and were always given plenty of choices. We also enjoyed having room service and it always arrived on time. The Ports of call on this cruise were all locations we had not been to before and our shore excursions gave us an introductory taste to these locations. All in all we enjoyed this trip, we enjoyed this ship, and we enjoy this cruise line for both the river and ocean cruises.

Valencia

Valencia was also a lovely town.

Rome (Civitavecchia)

We boarded the ship in Rome. No time for an excursion.
