Itinerary looked very intriguing to us, plus we received mail offer for 2-for-1 prices and discounted airfare. Highlights include the city tour of Bergen, free time to wander around Bergen (especially funicular to top of the mountain), Reykjavik and swimming in the Blue Lagoon, hiking around L'Anse Aux Meadows in Newfoundland, and sightseeing in Quebec City. Lowlights were sailing through hurricane-like conditions (80-90 mph winds and 50 foot swells) which made for a very long, uncomfortable night and which caused us to miss a port at the Faeroe Islands.

The crew was as accommodating as they could be, delivering room service when we had to leave the dinning room and battening down the glassware in our cabin. The ports were all adventures (in a good way) for us, visiting locations we would probably never have had the opportunity to see otherwise. The ports in Greenland were a bit primitive, but it was a thrill just to be there. The scenery was spectacular all through the cruise, and the optional excursions were great insights into the lands visited.

Cabin Review

Cabin Deluxe Veranda

Excellent room; large bathroom; easy access to outside veranda.

Port Reviews

Lerwick (Shetland Islands)

Bus tour of city and country with a stop to see Shetland ponies. The Shetland pony stop was a pen by the side of the road, so was a bit disappointing.
