We were looking for a Viking cruise to celebrate my upcoming 60th birthday. This cruise hit several places where my daughter had worked as an archaeologist and so we picked it. From the minute we contacted Viking customer service, we were treated as pampered guests. Art Rivera was our cruise consultant and he made us feel like royalty. The ship itself was divine and I never felt so pampered in all my life. It seemed like before we even knew we needed or wanted something, it would appear. All the staff was helpful, cheerful, and accommodating. The entertainment was stellar & varied. There was no lack of things to do. If you wanted activity, you could have it. If you wanted peace, quiet, & solitude, you could have that too. My only suggestion would be to add another excursion option to each port. Having a recorded guide & map for more independent exploration of the port would be a nice change from buses. While the bus trips were well organized, entertaining, and enlightening, sometimes it's nice to spend more time on the ground in a port. From beginning to end, this was an amazing trip.
