We cruised with another couple we met on a Viking Portugal trip, who also wanted a winter break. Embarking in Rome and disembarking in Barcelona went smoothly. The ship was amazing. We spent time on the after deck in warm weather and library or lounge when it was cool.

The staff provided interesting talks on the countries we were visiting. Our tour guides for port excursions were excellent. We especially enjoyed the Muslim countries of Tunisia and Algers and would like to visit them again. Malta was another highlight.

We did not go to the nightly entertainment, but heard good reviews. The staff were attentive and we tried all the restaurants. The food was excellent. Our room was very comfortable, as we splurged on a penthouse junior suite. While we prefer the smaller river cruises, this was a nice change.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was on the 6th floor and gave us a great view of our ports of call. Were were well serviced by the staff. The larger room gave us more storage space and could be divided from the sleeping area. It was very comfortable.

Port Reviews

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Embarking was a breeze. No time to explore the city with many old buildings and walls. About an hour from the airport.
