We have traveled before on the Adventure and love her. Her updates were very noticeable and nicely done. We had a balcony room which we love, beds are not the softest, but we asked our room steward for a mattress topper and had it within hours. Room was always clean and neat. We were booked on the 6pm dining in main dining room and although we enjoyed the food and the staff did its very best, service was not up to standards. We feel that this was related to the steady influx of the our time diners, which overwhelmed the serving staff for the scheduled 6pm diners. Our wait staff did their best and were terrific, but it was clearly noticeable that they were overwhelmed and service was slow and hectic. Many diners made their way to Boleros bar during the meal for drinks as due to the staff being overwhelmed , bar service was extremely slow or non existent in the dining room.

Room service was enjoyed for breakfast on our balcony and was free of charge ( non alcoholic drinks included). elevators did not have the day of the week on the floor, which I missed as it helped to orient me to the day. Pool staff was over vigilant in patrolling the deck to ensure people were not saving pool chairs, to the point that they were questioning people in pool, hot tub, and bar areas as to where their seats were located. Entertainment staff were outgoing and humorous. Standard shows were enjoyable, hypnotist was extremely entertaining. Would be enjoyable to have some broadway type shows and entertainment. All bars had exceptional service and game shows there were entertaining. We also used the casino to cash in our onboard credits for actual cash money- the casino charged a fee of 6% to cash out the onboard credit. We then used the credit n the islands.

We did not book any excursions through the ship, but we did use Shoreexcursioneer.com to book day passes at resorts on Aruba and St Martin- we really enjoyed this as they were all inclusive( meals, drinks, chairs, towels, umbrellas) and it was worth the price ( usually about $60-$80 per person). Getting on the ship in San Juan we arrived at 1pm and were onboard by 2pm. Service was fast and efficient. Returning to San Juan we decided to self disembark- we stood inline in the ship for approximately 45 minutes, and disembarkment with customs was very fast and no issue noted. We enjoyed the ship and would sail on her again- she may be a smaller and older ship- but she is well taken care of and staff is doing a great job.

Port Reviews

San Juan

We arrived 1 day earlier and really enjoyed our stay at The Caribe Hilton. We explored Old San Juan on our own.

St. Maarten

We used Resortforaday.com and booked a day pass at Sonesto Maho Beach Resort- for $89 per person this was all inclusive- alcohol and nonalcohol drinks, food, chairs, towels, umbrellas, beach, 2 pools, restrooms. Able to watch the planes come and go at Maho each and a short walk took us directly onto beach to watch planes above our heads

Curacao

We took a taxi to Playa Porto Marie Beach. Taxi was $25 per person round trip. $13 for 2 chairs and umbrella. Beach was beautiful and clean, crystal clear water, truly amazing snorkeling, soft waves. Restrooms were simple, but clean. Outdoor restaurant and bar clean and reasonable. Beach didn't get busy until noon and even then it wasn't overly crowded, One of my favorite stops on this trip

Bonaire

We booked through shoreexcursioneer.com a day pass for The Plaza Beach Resort. For $39 per person it was all inclusive- chairs, umbrellas, restrooms, pools, beach, all food and all drinks including alcohol. It didn't include towels. beach clean, water clear, rocky reefs , good snorkeling. Nice clean resort

Aruba

We again used shoreexcursioneer.com and booked a day pass for $84 per person to the Aruba Barceló Occidental grand Resort- this was amazing! all inclusive- food, buffet, drinks, alcohol, pools, beach, chairs, umbrellas, restrooms. Very, very clean and beautiful resort. unfortunately no snorkeling, but was a beautiful an relaxing beach
