I've cruised with Carnival several times before and had great experiences. This ship just needs to be retired. The engines couldn't power us to Grand Caymen so we had a new schedule assigned just the day before sailing (even though we PAID for a trip to Grand Caymen - I heard several guests say they read that's happened a few times before )... Weather was rough one day so we couldn't dock at the replacement port they gave us (Costa Maya). I obviously don't blame them for THAT, but it left us with LOTS of extra time on the ship... during which the elevators broke, the water stopped working temporarily, the boat smelled like a sewer on again and off again on day, several of the sinks in the bathroom were so backed up with water you couldn't wash your hands... just needs serious upgrades.
On the other hand, the wait staff and room cleaning crew were awesome. Super nice, very attentive. Food was also very good. Had a great time at dinner every night. Michael was an exceptional waiter. And the magic shows by Suraj kept us amazed and guessing each night. Transfer this team to a newer, cleaner, fully operational ship and good things will happen, Carnival!
