When we book a cruise we rely heavily on two things, our travel agents whom I trust very much, and Cruise Critic which I have also come to trust a lot.

But I'd have to say we were a bit disappointed this time. Maybe because we were expecting more. All the reviews were great. The editors Choice was a full 5 stars, the recent ranking has Reflection as the top large ship in the world right now. It sounded awesome! And we were expecting a lot.

But from pre-registration on the website that was a bit less than intuitive, to the embarkation that took an hour and a half and could have been much faster with a couple of easy fixes, the trip didn't start well. And it didn't help that the weather was rough for the first few days of the trip and with lots of wind, high seas, (one staff member was overheard saying that they didn't know if they should have worn their life vest the night before! I was glad not many guests heard that! It wasn't that bad honestly) and little sun, things could have been better.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1B

Cabin 1B

The cabin was nice. Plenty of room and we were even able to use the balcony to enjoy the sun in privacy. The bathroom was roomy and the shower impressive for a cabin this size. I was somewhat disappointed in the mattress. And with rough seas and lots of rocking in the ship for a couple of nights, the room made several noises that could be easily remedied. The door between our can and our neighbors rattled against it's latch, as did the overhead birth. Both could be quieted with rubber insulation fairly easily. Instead we did so with paper stuffed in them. And as always, it took us a night to remember to quiet the hangers in the closet.

The TV took some getting use to using, but we figured it out. The selection of channels was limited, but we don't go on cruises to watch tv. I have bee on cruises that showed the movies that had been shown in the theaters earlier in the cruise though. That would have been nice since the movies were shown when we were eating dinner in the first seating or late at night.

Port Reviews

Miami

I was disappointed in Miami in general

St. Maarten

This was our second trip to St Maarten. The people are beautiful and very friendly. One of our favorite ports.

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

I would like to go back and ride the train
