when searching for a cruise I did see some negative comments regarding the Jewel, all I can say is those people must be on crack! There was NOTHING negative about this cruise! The ship was in great condition and VERY clean. The workers are always cleaning something! The Whole crew was amazingly friendly! Didn't matter what their job title was they said good morning, afternoon or evening when you passed them even at 4 am. The food- my oh my where can I find the words to describe the assortment of it! There were so many options to choose from and ALL of it was so good! Didn't see or eat one thing that was unpleasant. Cabin steward was awesome, did a great job cleaning up every morning. The shows were good also. We booked our own excursions while in ports ( puerto Vallarta, mazatlan & Cabo). At least half of what the cruise offers. Don't be afraid to book your own. If you decide to do so,egging in mazatlan, I would use mazatlan tours! They offer a lot of excursions and a top notch business to deal with!
