We love sailing out of San Juan, safe/friendly, and Excellent embarkation/disembarkation ~ very streamlined on both ends of cruise. Kudos for that! Motown and John Joseph comedian were superb! RCL dancers and singers were up to normal stds, but mostly on one show ~ Broadway. Got "robbed" of show 1st nite, and when Newlywed game pre-empted ANY entertainment. Last nite's show was mostly sales talk for buying DVD of cruise. Pool tables worked fine, but had NO useable cue sticks! All sticks had dried out (or missing) tips, hard/brittle ends making it impossible to use any "English" on impact. Should be replaced. Obviously, folks onboard that keep the table clean and functioning, DO NOT SHOOT POOL!

Biggest disappointment was the long wait in the Main Dining Room. Refurbishment of the Jewel in 2016 added 400 guests, but did not provide larger food service facility and actually reduced staff, causing meals to last close to 2 hours each nite. Eating in Specialty restaurants, was MUCH faster (just over one hour) and had cuisine that matched memories of early days of cruising. Ship functioned well, minor plumbing issues, but didn't last long. Crew was pleasant, in spite of being over worked (usually 12+ hours/day).

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Had AFT corner balcony room. Great when it wasn't raining. Shower tiny, miss having a Jr Suite....Plenty of storage/closet space. Limited TV channels, unless you're a CNN fan.....Viewing your Sea Pass account didn't work on the inter-active channel, but Guest Services always provided answers promptly.

Port Reviews

Grenada

Took local taxi and got great tour for $25 each!

St. Croix

Was raining so just went ashore for 1 hour, looked at vendors and had a couple brews.

San Juan

Flew kite at old San Juan's fort. Let out 300 feet of line! Greatest place to fly kites!
