We wanted to revisit the Caribbean, not having been there in 4 years. We escaped the bitter February and headed for the warm Caribbean sun aboard the Regal Princess, a beautiful ship of lovely design with a warm accommodating staff. For a large ship, it had a friendly atmosphere with conversant guests. The public places were shiny, clean, and well maintained.

The 7-day itinerary included Amber Cove, Dominican Republic; St. Thomas, USVI; and St. Kitts & Nevis. This suited us fine, as we enjoy having a few sea days to just enjoy the ship and avail ourselves of the entertainment opportunities. Amber Cove, a beautiful port, welcomes you, but if you take a shore excursion you will see the real poverty of this country.

Embarkation went smoothly as usual.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Our cabin was fine. I don't recall what category it was, but it was a balcony cabin. We enjoy a balcony very much, and we do appreciate having a covered balcony. The balconies on the Regal are very shallow; there is not much room for stretching out. Only 2 chairs (they do recline, however) and a small table.
