We cruise for the entire package (ship and itinerary). This fit the bill. The MDR hours changed for traditional seating and due to the slow service, it interferred with our usual early show schedule (that also moved from 7:30 or 8p to 7p) so often we ate in the Windjammer, but we had to rush because the Windjammer didn't open until 6:30p...a suggestion would be to open at 6p. We're early to rise (5a) and early to fall (9 or 9:30p) so the change in these hours really upset our normal routine. Thank goodness the food in the Windjammer has really improved with a wide variety of selection. Loved the new hand washing station - excellent addition !! Now if we can get you to change the hours in the Windjammer (open for breakfast @ 6:30a and dinner @ 6p.
The entertainment fell short - loved the comedian, that's about it. That may be why the show attendance was so low - not enough unique entertainment. The ice show was fabulous! One thing I've never understood...why is all the adult shows/activities so late at night. You're catering to singles and those with children, yet if cruising with children, the parents have to stay in so that leaves those with no children with no activities between 8p and 10p. Mix it up a bit. If it's adult only entertainment - post that no children are allowed under the age of 18. This was a port intensive cruise, yet you didn't modify the show schedules accordingly...everything enjoyable for adults (only) was after 9:30 or 10p. Overall service, excellent.
Loved the convenient location on the bump and right outside the elevators on deck 6. It could get noisy in the hallways with cruisers partying in the late hours of the night - which woke us up several times. They (simply) didn't realize that laughter and loud voices carried from outside the elevator into our cabin. One floor up from the Promenade so getting coffee in the early hours of the morning was just a hop skip and a jump away. The cabin was spacious with ample storage area - we even had a perfect corner for our pop-up hamper. The full length mirror was a plus too! Absolutely no complaints!
Loved OSJ - so fascinating and unique. We did two pre-cruise excursions (private): PR Tour Desk - hiking El Yunque Rainforest (off the beaten path)...excellent, yet you really need to be in good physical health. Segway PR was also and excellent choice. We took a 2 hr. Segway tour around OSJ with a stop at El Morro
We formed a private tour with fellow Cruise Critic members and had a wonderful day with Bompy of Cosol Tours. Not only was it educational, but a fun-packed adventure. We went to the mud bath; falls; took a boat transfer to snorkel from the beach; had a complimentary and filling snack stop; had complimentary drinks (rum punch, water or beer) from the booze van at designated stops and ended with warm bread & cheese to top the day off.
