We were looking for a cruise around the Galapagos Islands, and one crucial factor was that I have celiac disease and therefore must have a true gluten free diet. That was handled perfectly by all staff, especially Carlo (head chef) and Melissa (Maitre 'D). There are a lot of food restrictions in the Galapagos because of the remoteness and government regulations concerning imported produce, so that poses extra challenges, but they did a fantastic job. All ships in that region are small, so don't expect a pool and a casino ... that's not what this cruise is about.
We loved the excursions and found all the staff to be great, very hospitable, courteous and efficient, and always looking for ways to exceed expectations. The guides very very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the unique environment of the Galapagos. We really liked the true "all inclusive" nature of the cruise, no hidden extras at all. I would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a great way to see the Galapagos - a certain level of mobility is required as you have to climb stairs to get into and out of a Zodiac rubber boat at sea, and make "wet landings" on remote beaches with no docks. This was my first Silversea cruise, and i would definitely be happy to do another one - particularly one of the "expedition cruises".
Fine, high standard, at 22 sq meters ample for our needs.
