SHIP: The ship was in pretty good condition considering that this is the last cruise before it goes to dry dock. I won't go into much detail on the decor, public spaces, etc., as it will all be different for the next cruise anyways. I will say that I hope that they are increasing the size of the pool. It was very small, and with all of the college spring breakers onboard, there was no place for non-spring breakers.

CABIN: We were very impressed with the mini-suite cabin size and layout (11126). We had a connecting room with my brother and his daughter, and it was very convenient to be able to walk between rooms. The room was in an awesome location, as it was only a few doors down from the aft elevator bank, and an additional perk was that there wasn't really any noise as a result. Our room attendant, Komang, was incredible. He was attentive to our every need, and made it a point to learn the kids' names, and address them every time we crossed paths.

DINING: The French Bistro was great and Cagney's was too. The Italian restaurant left a little to be desired. It was right below the basketball court, and all we could hear was stomping and pounding all through our dinner. The Brazilian Steakhouse was just okay. The buffet was decent, and had a nice selection. We spent most of our mornings at the diner on the 12th deck, aft....great breakfast selection, bar was open, and there were usually tables available in and out of the sun. We were frustrated that we were told that we could only get one drink at a time, per person. On other cruise lines, we could get two, which is helpful when you are wrangling little ones, and getting drinks for your spouse. I am thinking that it had to do with curbing the intake of the college spring breakers onboard, but it made for an annoyance to other patrons.

Port Reviews

Tampa

The Port of Tampa embarkation process was a nightmare. The 311 cruise was late coming in (that is what we were told), so even though we got to the Port at noon, we didn't get to our cabin until 4:15pm. I have cruised two other lines, three prior cruises total, and never had an experience that even came close.

Costa Maya

Take a cab from outside the cruise port and visit Mahahual beach. It is awesome!!
