This was my 40th birthday cruise and I was with my husband who is also 40 and my sister who is 30. We were in room 9160 at the back of the ship in Concierge Class. There was a pull out couch in the room where my sister slept and the bed for my husband and I. I was surprised at the amount of room we had as I was initially worried about closet space with it being two women with 2 weeks worth of clothes and my poor husband, but it was lots of room and even enough for storage for all 4 cases under the bed. We also had a huge deck which helped. The demographic on this ship is definitely older, and we were probably considered young on this ship, but we still made friends and had a great time. Everyone was very chatty and open to talking, which was so nice. We had select dining and often dined with an open table so we could meet new people.

We have cruised with Celebrity many times and upon embarking I must admit I was a bit disappointed with how old the ship was compared to the Celebrity Reflection (which is still my favourite). I prefer the open plan concept, which the Millenium didn't have. I figured it was still nice and clean and well maintained and I wanted to give it a chance. I am glad I did....

In terms of the cruise experience, this ended up being one of the best cruises I have done in terms of service and in particular the food in the specialty restaurants. Sushi on 5 had the best sushi I have ever had (and we went to Japan right after the cruise and it was even better than Japan). Eddy (our room attendant from Indonesia) was the best room attendant I have experienced so far on any of the cruises (this was number 6). From the moment we stepped on the ship, he wanted to make sure we had the best time possible and we did. On my birthday he pulled my sister aside to find out when we would be out of the room as he wanted to get the room ready so he could surprise me with a cake, champagne and amazing towel swans that were just beautiful. He really went above and beyond when we were in Singapore and decided to head out of the country to Banton for the day which meant leaving the country and heading to Indonesia by boat (it is an hour away and I recommend doing this if you have time... it is BEAUTIFUL). As many of the stops on this cruise were city tours we felt we didn't see many beaches and so we thought this would be a nice break and it really was. We told Eddy we would be visiting Indonesia and he was so excited for us to be seeing his country. We heard a knock at the door and there was Eddy on the phone with a friend from Indonesia so we talked to him about where to go, which beaches to see etc. Eddy said "if we were happy, it made him happy". I almost cried purely because of his kind heart.

Pull out bed was great for my sister and we had a huge balcony. We were at the very back of the ship. My only complaint was that we were right under the bar at the back of the ship and you could hear scraping of chairs all the time.. from morning until night. It got to the point that we were just laughing about it because it was becoming comical. If they could put something on the bottom of the chairs to stop the noise I think it would be a big improvement. Apart from that we loved the room.
